Multiple-Asset-Class Portfolio Simulator
Creating clear, compelling tools to illustrate the value of key investment concepts is one of Gibson Capital’s hallmarks. In 1998, we developed our widely acclaimed “Blindfold Portfolio Preference Test” as a method to demonstrate that broadly diversified portfolios deliver superior risk-adjusted returns. The M-A-C Portfolio Simulator takes our groundbreaking work one step further by visually animating the robust risk-return benefits of an investment portfolio comprised of multiple asset classes. Before the creation of the dynamic simulator, advisors had to rely on the Blindfold Preference Test’s static pictures to tell the story. Now both investors and investment professionals can see the changing effects over time that broad diversification has on portfolio volatility and return. Investors can witness the benefits of diversification using different combinations of asset classes playing out over varying time spans. The M-A-C Portfolio Simulator further demonstrates that portfolio diversification is a strategy that stands the test of time.
Total Portfolio Simulator
The Total Portfolio Simulator is an interactive portfolio design tool that is intended to help investors proactively road-test their portfolio allocations using outputs of dollars and cents rather than risk and return concepts. We developed the proprietary animated application using data published in the Fifth Edition of the firm’s investment classic, Asset Allocation: Balancing Financial Risk (McGraw-Hill).

Asset Allocation: The Book
Roger Gibson is perhaps best known as the author of the investment classic Asset Allocation: Balancing Financial Risk. While the concept and theory of asset allocation were not new, Roger's book was the first written on the subject. The book bridges the gap between modern portfolio theory and the real-life investment decisions that clients and their advisors must make. Praised by the financial profession, Asset Allocation is written for a wide audience of investors, financial advisors, and teachers.
